Meet Kailey
I am a Colorado native and have been fortunate to grow up surrounded by the beauty of this state. I attended the University of Colorado Boulder, where I studied Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. Through my undergraduate education, I developed a strong understanding of child development and the ways developmental, speech, and hearing differences can impact children and their families. More importantly, this experience sparked a passion for advocacy that has continued to shape my work across multiple disciplines.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I moved to Seattle, where I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and its moody beauty. During this season of my life, I earned my Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary, with an emphasis in Youth, Family, and Culture. My graduate work deepened my understanding of the ways culture, relationships, and systemic barriers shape the experiences of children and adolescents. Children and teenagers desperately need connection with loving and supportive adults outside of their parents. As a therapist, I hope to be a safe and warm person that allows them to discover their own identity, passions, and confidence. As someone who holds faith and spirituality as meaningful parts of my own life, I also value the ways our beliefs, values, and sense of meaning can shape how we understand ourselves and move through the world.
I spent the following years working with adolescents and college students, building relationships and developing a deeper appreciation for the unique challenges young people face today. My work at a local nonprofit serving teenage mothers and their children, led me to pursue my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. I witnessed the incredible resilience and trauma these mothers had endured, and wanted to learn additional clinical tools and training to help the people I served create meaningful and lasting change.
Becoming a mother myself deepened my passion for supporting women through the profound transitions that surround building a family—from preconception and pregnancy to birth and postpartum. This season of life can bring tremendous joy and connection, while also bringing unexpected challenges, changes in identity, grief, anxiety, trauma, and uncertainty. During my clinical training at The Rylie Center for Hope and Healing, I worked primarily with women from preconception through the postpartum period. I have been continually humbled by the strength, vulnerability, and transformation I have witnessed during this season of life, and I am passionate about creating a space where women feel supported as they navigate it.
My clinical experience has included working with young children through adulthood in outpatient settings. During my graduate training, I completed coursework in child-centered play therapy and received training in Synergetic Play Therapy. I believe children deserve therapeutic spaces that honor the way they naturally communicate, explore, and make sense of their experiences. For children, therapy does not always happen through sitting and talking—it happens through play.
My Approach
I believe meaningful change begins with feeling truly seen, heard, and understood. My approach to therapy is grounded in person-centered and trauma-informed care. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and genuine presence. Therapy is a place where you can slow down, feel safe enough to be honest, and explore your experiences without judgment.
I value the therapeutic relationship as an important part of healing and strive to create a space where you feel accepted for who you are while also feeling supported as you grow. Together, we can explore the experiences and patterns that have shaped you, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and discover new ways of navigating life with greater confidence and curiosity. I draw from evidence-based and attachment-based approaches to help you develop practical tools for managing difficult emotions, strengthening relationships, and moving through life’s unexpected challenges.
With children, I incorporate play and other creative, developmentally appropriate approaches into therapy. Children communicate their thoughts, emotions, and experiences through play long before they have the words to explain them. Through play, art, storytelling, movement, and other expressive activities, I help children explore emotions, build emotional regulation skills, process difficult experiences, and develop a stronger sense of self. My goal is to create a space where children can be curious, creative, and fully themselves while building a trusting and meaningful therapeutic relationship.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, identity development, self-esteem, relationship and family challenges, attachment and connection, and emotional regulation. I also have a special interest in perinatal mental health, including infertility and fertility journeys, pregnancy loss, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, birth trauma, and the emotional transition into parenthood.
Ultimately, my hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can better understand your story, reconnect with yourself, and feel more confident navigating the story that comes next. Wherever you are, I would be honored to meet you there.
