Getting Started

Getting started

How do I get started with Lola & Me Therapy?

Getting started is simple. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation by completing the form on our Book With Us page and choosing a time that works for you. We’ll use that call to hear what’s bringing you to therapy, answer your questions, and help you take the next step.

Who do you work with?

We work with diverse populations — children, teens, and adults — in individual, couples, group, and family counseling. We serve people from all backgrounds and experiences, in person at our Denver office and online across Colorado. You can see everything we offer on our Services page.

Who will I be meeting with?

We strive to meet the needs of our clients and have a variety of available therapists, so we can pair you with the therapist who can best support your goals. You can get to know Hannah Snider and Tori Brown on our Meet Our Team page — and meet Lola and Graham Pellicori, our therapy dogs, on the Meet Our Therapy Dogs page.

Sessions & Scheduling

Where will we meet for therapy?

We can meet in person at our Denver office, conveniently located in the Highlands at 2727 Bryant St, Suite 610, Denver, CO 80211 — or online from anywhere in Colorado through secure telehealth. We’re open Monday through Thursday, 9AM–7PM.

How does telehealth work?

Telehealth by SimplePractice is the technology service we use for videoconferencing appointments. Before your session, we’ll send an accessible link to your phone or email. All you need to do is get comfortable in a safe space, click the link, and join the video meeting.

How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?

We offer 50-, 90-, 120-, and 180-minute sessions, with an optional 30-minute add-on for an additional fee. We typically recommend individuals start with a 50-minute session; for couples and families, we suggest starting with 120-minute sessions. We recommend attending at least once a week to start — and depending on your needs, meeting twice a week is a possibility. As you progress in therapy, we can move to bi-weekly or monthly maintenance sessions.

Rates, Insurance & Payment

Rates, insurance & payment

What are your session rates?

Because every clinician brings unique strengths and areas of focus, rates vary slightly by provider and session type. With Tori Brown, individual therapy is $165 and couples therapy is $185. With Hannah Snider, individual therapy is $185, couples and family therapy is $215, and Parent Support Sessions are $195. Therapy intensive pricing varies based on your goals and is discussed in a planning session. Full details are on our Rates & Insurance page.

Do you accept my insurance?

We do not bill insurance directly — we are a private-pay, out-of-network practice. We provide superbills you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement; many of our clients go this route, and it is easy to do. We can also confirm your out-of-network coverage during our consultation call and let you know how much your specific plan may reimburse you.

What is a superbill?

Payment is expected after each session, and Lola & Me Therapy provides a superbill — a detailed receipt that you submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If approved, your insurance company reimburses you directly, since you will have already paid for services. We recommend calling your insurance company to learn about your out-of-network benefits and deductibles.

Can you submit insurance claims for me?

Yes. For clients who prefer a more hands-off experience, we partner with Mentaya, a service that submits claims to your insurance company on your behalf and helps manage the reimbursement process. Mentaya charges a 5% fee per submitted session. Whether you submit claims independently or use Mentaya, we’re here to support you in navigating your reimbursement options.

Do you accept HSA or Crime Victims Compensation?

Yes to both. We accept HSA (Health Savings Account) payments — please bring your HSA card or relevant documentation to your session. We also accept Crime Victims Compensation from Gilpin and Jefferson Counties.

Do you offer reduced fees?

We understand that financial stress is real. That’s why we offer reduced-fee options and adjust fees as your circumstances change. If cost is a concern, please reach out — we’re happy to talk with you about options that support both your healing and your financial well-being.

What services do you offer besides individual therapy?

Alongside individual therapy, we offer couples therapy, family therapy, therapy for children and teens, group therapy, therapy intensives, animal-assisted therapy, ESA evaluations, AAT consultation for professionals, and speaking engagements. Explore them all on our Services page.

What is a therapy intensive?

Therapy intensives offer a focused, immersive path toward healing, designed to support meaningful progress in a shorter amount of time. They’re fully customizable — whether you’re looking for a few focused hours or several immersive days, we’ll collaborate with you to design an experience that works for your goals, schedule, and budget. Learn more on our Intensives page.

Is couples therapy right for us?

Couples therapy can be a valuable tool if you and your partner are working through communication challenges or conflict, navigating big life transitions together, rebuilding trust, or simply seeking a confidential, nonjudgmental space to explore your relationship. Hannah Snider is a PACT- and Gottman-trained couples therapist. Learn more on our Couples Therapy page.

Animal-Assisted Services & ESA

What is an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letter?

An ESA letter is a document from a licensed clinician stating that your animal helps you manage mental health symptoms. These letters are most often used for housing accommodations under fair-housing law — with HOAs, landlords, and other housing-related matters. To receive an evaluation, you must already have an animal who serves you, and letters are renewed every year through a clinical evaluation, because circumstances change. Learn more on our ESA Evaluations page.

Is an ESA the same as a service animal or a therapy animal?

No. A service animal is trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability and has privileges to accompany them in public venues. A therapy animal — like Lola, our certified therapy dog — provides goal-oriented therapeutic support in approved settings after specialized training and evaluation. An emotional support animal is neither: it provides comfort through its presence, and its protections relate primarily to housing.

Can I get an ESA letter from an online registration website?

No. Websites offering to certify or register your animal without an evaluation by a licensed clinician are scams. A legitimate ESA letter can only come from a licensed clinician who evaluates your mental health needs — not your animal’s behavior. We provide professional, legally sound ESA evaluations in person in Denver and via telehealth across Colorado.
